A dining space or diningroom should provide a minimum of 3' / 1m of space on each side of the dining table that has chairs, to allow comfortable room to move around the table and move the chairs. 10' x 12' or 3.3m / 3.9m is a good minimimum size for a separate dining room. In situations where the dining space is open to other spaces, this area may be less, as the dining space "shares" space with other spaces.
