Problem / Situation
In creating a place that feels like "home", within the context of the site and the larger community, pay specific attention to these three layers, arranged like the layers of an onion.
Solution
- Home / Building: The is the house or other building itself. It should be a protective, private space somewhat apart from the community, but still connected both to the community and in particular the site
- Site: This should bring elements of the natural world, creating a paradise-like place to inhabit
- Community / Neighborhood: Here we are talking about the immediate neighborhood, easily reachable on foot. It should be a desirable/attractive place, and should provide for the basic needs of day-to-day life; community gathering places, places to get food, etc.
