| | Minimizing Distinctions with Color | |
|
Problem / Situation
Sometimes, one wishes to hide or minimize distinctions between objects, materials, and structures.
Solution
Coloring or painting multiple adjacent materials or objects the same color can cause them to be perceived as a single piece, rather than smaller separate pieces.
Bear in mind that this should be done with caution, since the story that a building tells through its materials and structure can be a key part of the pleasure that one experiences from the building.
