About this Building / Place
This church was designed as the new Cathedral of Constantinople by Emperror Justinian I. It rises up from the river's edge as a series of interconnected dones and colonnaded walkways. The cathedral is detailed with beautiful mosaics and decorative plaques in green, red and yellow marble.
