The Great Pyramid of Giza is thought to have been designed by Hemiunu, the pharaoh Khufu's vizier, over a 20-year period around 2,560 BC, as the tomb for the fourth-dynasty ruler. It is constructed of 2.5 million stones, all of which were laid with extreme precision, despite the fact that none weighes less than a tonne.
