About this Building / Place
This concert hall in Los Angeles, named in honor of entertainer Walt Disney, was designed by Frank O. Gehry. It's stainless steel cladding and undulating, organic, free-form massing is a Gehry trademark. The engineering necessary to build this sort of structure has only been made feasible with recent advances in computing, making possible the creation of forms that architects could previously only imagine.
