Casa Mila Expressed Attic Structure

What Is Casa Mila?

The buildings biggest claim to fame is that it was designed by Antonio Gaudi soon after the turn of the 20th century.

Believe it or not this was designed to be the Mila families personal residence, they did however rent out many apartments within the building while living on the first floor.

The building is open for tours year round. If you plan to visit I recommend reading this page on their official website first. It will help you gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the building before you get there.

Many of the techniques used to create the building were ahead of their time and are used heavily today. Others may eventually be lost to history, much in the same way that I fear using material like wood for butcher block countertops will be.
